Program Scope and Description

IMDS supports Air Force maintenance documentation, scheduling, personnel qualifications and aircraft/equipment history. The disclosed baseline distinguishes the Micro Focus COBOL Central Data Base (CDB) from the C# Maintenance Scheduling Module (MSM), with hosting on Cloud One Azure.

IMDS CDB/MSM transactional and interface regression; COBOL/C# application behavior on the disclosed Azure baseline. Developers’ unit tests are inputs, not a substitute for this role. Security, accessibility and recovery tests require the appropriate assigned competence.

Key Responsibilities

Mission and integration verification

  • Build independent tests for CDB maintenance transactions and MSM schedules, qualification checks and aircraft-history changes across the COBOL/C# boundary.
  • Exercise assigned CEMS/REMIS/FMxC2/BLADE exchanges and DDIL scenarios; compare expected transactions before outage, during disconnection and after synchronization.
  • Create test data, expected outcomes and traceability linking backlog requirements, acceptance criteria, executed cases and defects.

Automation and release evidence

  • Develop maintainable scripts and automated regression using Selenium, UFT or other Government-approved tools appropriate to the application.
  • Contribute to the A006 Test Strategy and pipeline/test evidence; provide reproducible failures, coverage gaps and release-readiness recommendations for CV&I/QT&E support.

Assurance and independence

  • Execute assigned Section 508, security-remediation and COOP/recovery checks when qualified; obtain specialist support when needed.
  • Do not independently verify code you authored; preserve test-data/configuration history, controlled tools and objective judgment when approved AI-assisted testing is used.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software/systems engineering or a related field preferred. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered only where permitted by the applicable contract labor category.

Professional Certifications

  • Software test, test-automation or accessibility training/certification preferred. Mandatory cyber credentials apply only to approved security-testing work roles.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience independently planning and executing application, integration and regression tests, with traceable evidence and reproducible defect reports.
  • Ability to build or maintain automation/scripts rather than rely exclusively on manual click-through testing.
  • Ability to translate maintenance transactions, schedules and interfaces into expected results and data checks.
  • Ability to distinguish an independent technical recommendation from final Government acceptance or authorization.
  • Possess or obtain and maintain Secret clearance before Government system or facility access, and complete required investigation, CAC, access and security training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • IMDS CDB/MSM, maintenance rules and disconnected-operation tests.
  • Selenium/UFT, SQL validation, accessibility testing or repeatable security/recovery evidence relevant to the assignment.
