Work Environment

  • Work Location: Remote/hybrid eligible; Montgomery/Gunter Annex attendance for onboarding, reviews and mission events.

Compensation

Karthik Consulting is committed to providing competitive compensation based on the responsibilities of the role, required qualifications, security clearance level, relevant experience, certifications, customer requirements, geographic location, and overall business needs. The salary range listed for this position represents a good-faith estimate of the current compensation range for this role.

At Karthik Consulting, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range. Final compensation decisions are based on the facts and circumstances of each candidate’s experience, qualifications, certifications, clearance level, contract requirements, and overall alignment with the role.

Employees may be eligible for company benefits and additional compensation programs, subject to company policy, contract requirements, and individual eligibility.

Program Scope and Description

FMxC2 provides Mobility Air Force visibility into aircraft and equipment status, location, availability, flying hours and service life. The scope includes sustainment and Government-directed migration from DISA hosting to an approved cloud, with four distinct environments and zero-data-loss validation.

The disclosed migration moves from DISA to a Government-approved cloud. The actual database inventory and source/target engine will be confirmed for the assigned environment.

Key Responsibilities

Database operations and security

  • Administer approved accounts/roles, database configurations and maintenance tasks using least privilege and auditable change records.
  • Monitor availability, query behavior, capacity and logs; investigate performance regressions with application/data engineers before changing the production baseline.
  • Apply authorized patches and applicable STIG/security settings; provide technical control and remediation evidence to the designated authorization team.

Backup, restoration and migration

  • Maintain backup schedules, restoration procedures and recovery runbooks; demonstrate successful recovery with evidence supporting program COOP exercises.
  • Support FMxC2 transfer rehearsals, database cutover and rollback; deliver operational records to the data-validation team rather than self-certifying migration success.

Release and incident coordination

  • Reconcile application and database versions before promotion; coordinate maintenance windows, rollback dependencies and independent checks of authored database code.
  • Support assigned critical-incident rotations, escalate unresolved conditions and hand over configuration/access records at transition.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software/systems engineering or a related field preferred. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered only where permitted by the applicable contract labor category.

Professional Certifications

  • Relevant development, database, cloud or secure-engineering credentials are preferred. Mandatory technical or cyber-workforce credentials, if applicable, will follow the approved work-role, proficiency and contract-category mapping. Final assignment-specific requirements will be identified before placement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Production database administration in the confirmed assignment, including access, backup/restore and performance investigation.
  • Ability to diagnose failed jobs, degraded queries or recovery issues and explain a tested restoration path.
  • Experience coordinating database changes with application releases, security hardening and monitored operating environments.
  • Ability to produce auditable operational evidence and support assigned incident coverage without bypassing approved access or release controls.
  • Possess or obtain and maintain Secret clearance before Government system or facility access, and complete required investigation, CAC, access and security training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • FMxC2/G081 databases, DISA-to-cloud migration and Government-approved AWS/Azure services.
  • Experience preparing database STIG evidence, configuration records and annual continuity/recovery exercise results.
