Program Scope and Description

IMDS supports Air Force maintenance documentation, scheduling, personnel qualifications and aircraft/equipment history. The disclosed baseline distinguishes the Micro Focus COBOL Central Data Base (CDB) from the C# Maintenance Scheduling Module (MSM), with hosting on Cloud One Azure.

Functional ownership of assigned maintenance documentation, discrepancy/corrective-action, scheduling, qualification and historical-record rules. Work connects CDB/MSM users to developers and independent testers; assigned exchanges include CEMS, REMIS, FMxC2 and BLADE.

Key Responsibilities

Mission-process analysis

  • Translate maintenance discrepancy, corrective-action and component-replacement workflows into specific stories, validation rules and acceptance scenarios.
  • Analyze DAFI 21-101-based scheduling, personnel-qualification checks and aircraft-history requirements; identify how a change affects CDB/MSM users.
  • Investigate data/workflow problems across assigned exchanges, and define expected offline/reconnection behavior without assuming developer or release-authority duties.

Backlog and functional validation

  • Document traceable stories, acceptance criteria, data examples and Definition of Ready inputs in approved tools; Government stakeholders retain priority and readiness decisions.
  • Perform assigned business validation only when qualified and independent from code authorship; record expected/actual results and support Government-led acceptance.

User support and knowledge transfer

  • Resolve escalated functional questions, publish approved workarounds and turn recurring issues into actionable backlog items with the FAS or organic support interface.
  • Prepare user manuals, release guidance, job aids and training; undertake program-office FSA duties only under a separate trained assignment and approved coverage plan.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in information systems, business analysis, maintenance/logistics or a related field preferred. Relevant military, operational or technical experience may be considered only where permitted by the applicable contract labor category.

Professional Certifications

  • Business-analysis, Agile or relevant maintenance/calibration credentials preferred. FSA training/readiness is mandatory only when FSA duties are assigned; other credentials follow the approved work-role mapping.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Air Force maintenance documentation/scheduling or closely comparable maintenance operations, and ability to translate those processes into software requirements.
  • Ability to document business rules, data examples, acceptance criteria and user-impact analysis instead of passing an unrefined request to developers.
  • Experience investigating application/workflow issues and explaining reproducible symptoms to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Ability to prepare usable training/support material and perform assigned objective business validation without accepting your own code.
  • Possess or obtain and maintain Secret clearance before Government system or facility access, and complete required investigation, CAC, access and security training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct IMDS CDB/MSM, CEMS/REMIS, maintenance analysis or unit-level production-user support.
  • Jira/Azure DevOps, Remedy/ServiceNow or equivalent work-tracking experience; release validation and train-the-trainer support.
