Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Testing and Quality Engineer to support the United States Postal Service (USPS) Product Solutions team. In this role, you will ensure the quality and reliability of critical postal applications, focusing on technical file specifications such as Mail.dat and Mail.XML. The ideal candidate brings strong automation skills and a deep understanding of customer acceptance testing within Agile and Waterfall environments.
- Location: Washington, DC 20260 (On-site/Hybrid as required)
- Clearance: Public Trust Eligible (must be US based with 5 years residency)
- Salary : $85,000 – $87,000 per year
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Software Requirement Specification (SRS) documents to support functional requirements affecting technical file specifications.
- Manage, update, and maintain supported technical specifications and guides.
- Lead Customer Acceptance Testing (CAT) efforts, including reviewing Technical Requirement Documents (TRD), developing test scripts, and performing production validation (smoke and functional testing).
- Represent the team as an expert participant in mail industry forums and Mailer Technical Advisory Committee (MTAC) workgroups.
- Develop automated test scripts and performance metrics to track CAT status.
- Create training materials and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for impacted applications.
Required Qualifications
- Certifications: Active ISTQB (CTAL-TAE), ISTQB (CT-AI), or a highly similar software testing certification
- Proven experience creating manual and automated test scripts utilizing tools like Python, Selenium, or AFT.
- Extensive background in performing CAT, UAT, smoke testing, regression testing, and functional testing.
- Experience working with data formats (CSV, XML, JSON) and relational databases.
- Proficiency with MS M365 tools (Excel, Word, Project, Visio, Access, Workflow) and test management methodologies (Agile/Waterfall).
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with USPS Mail.DAT and Mail.XML specifications.
- Demonstrated experience using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in automation testing tools.
